JAKARTA - The Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction Management (BP Taskin) revealed the importance of industrializing villages as the main strategy for poverty alleviation.

"The village should not only be the recipient of assistance, but must be a driving force for independent and inclusive industrialization," said Head of BP Tamkin Budiman Sujatmiko as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 9.

He also conveyed that the distribution data for the poor in Indonesia, which is dominated by rural areas, including East Java, Central Java, and NTB. According to him, villages have great potential to become industrialization centers through processing food products, renewable energy, and digital technology.

Budiman stated that the government must facilitate the development of a village-based ecosystem involving MSMEs, cooperatives, and the private sector.
