Head Of BP Taskin Reveals Village Industrialization Is A Solution To Poverty Reduction

JAKARTA - The Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction Management (BP Taskin) revealed the importance of industrializing villages as the main strategy for poverty alleviation.

"The village should not only be the recipient of assistance, but must be a driving force for independent and inclusive industrialization," said Head of BP Tamkin Budiman Sujatmiko as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 9.

He also conveyed that the distribution data for the poor in Indonesia, which is dominated by rural areas, including East Java, Central Java, and NTB. According to him, villages have great potential to become industrialization centers through processing food products, renewable energy, and digital technology.

Budiman stated that the government must facilitate the development of a village-based ecosystem involving MSMEs, cooperatives, and the private sector.

By driving more than 50,000 villages, he is optimistic that he can create new jobs that empower the poor.

This strategy includes strengthening village community access to entrepreneurial training, innovative financing, and digital technology. Budiman also mentioned that the government will integrate digital village programs to accelerate this industrialization.

Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the agricultural and fisheries sector is one of the innovations that is expected to boost village productivity.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) for the Economic Strengthening of the National People's Economy (Peknas) Ahmad Syarifudin fully supports BP Taskin's idea.

He emphasized that Peknas is ready to become a strategic partner of the government in implementing this program.

"With our network to the branch level, we support concrete steps to industrialize the village," said Ahmad Syarifudin.

For information, DPP Peknas held "Rakornas and Bimtek Mitra PEKNAS throughout Indonesia and Dialogue on Increasing the Economy of People in the Context of Poverty Reduction with the Agency for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction Management (BP Taskin)".

The activity took place from Sunday afternoon (8/12/2024) to Monday (9/12/2024) in Central Jakarta. This event was attended by hundreds of participants who were representatives of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) and the Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of National Education Agency (Peknas) throughout Indonesia.

Through this activity, his party is committed to developing village capacity as part of the long-term poverty alleviation solution.

The collaboration between the government, National Government, and the community is believed to be able to build rural-based economic independence. Thus, village industrialization can be one of the important pillars of poverty alleviation.
