JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius Mantiri ensures that the quality of Pertamina's fuel oil (BBM), especially Pertamax, is in accordance with the specifications set by the government.
Simon said that his party continues to improve the quality of its fuel as a result of a viral video on social media which states that the filter and fuel pump of several four-wheeled vehicles were damaged after being filled with Pertamax.
"We have collaborated with various parties to take samples at several Cibinong gas stations, West Java, the quality of Pertamax is difficult to match," Simon said at a press conference at the Ministry of SOEs, Monday, December 9.
Simon added, after a sample test was carried out and checked by the competent institution, he emphasized that the quality of fuel with an octane value of 92 (RON 92) was in accordance with standards and was worth buying and selling.
"The quality of Pertamax is in accordance with the standards and deserves to be traded. Thus, of course, Pertamina continues to try to improve itself," continued Simon.
Although the results of the Lemigas test of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources show that Pertamax has met the specifications, Simon emphasized that his party is determined to continue producing fuel products with high quality and deserves to be distributed to the wider community.
"Input and information from the public will be very useful for us whatever it takes like yesterday, we think it will be very good to encourage Pertamina's performance to provide better service to the community," said Simon.
Previously there was a viral video on social media showing a number of cars experiencing engine failure due to using Pertamax type of fuel oil (BBM).
This video uploaded by the @AraituLaki account on social media X shows a vehicle owner inviting people to stop consuming Pertamax due to damaged filters and gas stations.
"STOP BUY PERTAMAX!! Seen in one Car Workshop Resm Occupied, Many vehicles Damaged Filters and Gas Pumps which are thought to be due to the quality of PERTAMAX's FUEL!!," wrote the video caption quoted on Tuesday, November 26.
"That's information from one workshop, not a workshop and other consumers who have the same fate !," continued the caption.
