BPS Records Grain And Rice Prices In November 2024 Decreased

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that the price of unhulled rice at the farmer and rice level at the milling level in November 2024 decreased by no more than 6 percent on a monthly basis or month to month (mtm).

Acting (Plt) Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti explained, for harvested dry rice (GKP) per kilogram decreased 1.86 percent to Rp6,303, milling dry unhulled rice (GKG) decreased 1.48 percent to Rp6,984, and foreign quality unhulled rice fell 4.86 percent to Rp5,945.

Furthermore, for the price of rice per kilogram, milled with premium quality, it fell 1.15 percent to Rp12,846, medium quality decreased 1.27 percent to Rp12,395, submedium decreased 1.58 percent to Rp12,170, and rice broke down 5.97 percent to Rp12.000.

Amalia said the reason for the reduction in the price of unhulled rice was because some areas in the country were experiencing a harvest period.

"Except for Banten and NTB provinces, the quality of the GKP has increased by 1.63 percent and 6.15 percent, respectively," he said.

Furthermore, he said that during the November 2023 period of November 2024, the average highest price at the farmer level for GKP, GKG, and outside quality occurred in February 2024, amounting to IDR 7,261.00 per kilogram, IDR 8,591.00, and IDR 7,048.00, respectively.

Then the average lowest price at the farmer level for GKP quality and outside quality occurred in April 2024, which was Rp. 5,686.00 per kilogram, and Rp. 5,167.00, respectively, while the quality of GKG occurred in May 2024 of Rp. 6,676.00 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, continued Amalia, the farmer's exchange rate (NTP) and the agricultural household business exchange rate (NTUP) increased in November 2024.

His party noted that the November NTP was 121.29, an increase of 0.49 percent compared to the NTP the previous month. The increase in NTP was due to the price index received by farmers of 0.86 percent higher than the increase in the price index paid by farmers by 0.37 percent.

"The national NTUP in November 2024 was 123.77, an increase of 0.80 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP," he said.
