KKP Calls Types Of Fish To Support Prabowo MBG Program: There Are Tuna To Kerapu

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is ready to support the free nutritious food program (MBG) which will run starting in early January 2025.

Head of the Supervision and Control Agency for Marine and Fishery Product Quality (BPPMHKP) KKP Ishartini said, there are a number of types of fish that can supply the MBG program.

"Regarding the types of fish, of course, fish production in this national, right, there are many. Yes, tuna, tuna, skipjack, kelang fish, kembung fish. There are so many, yes, types of fish in us, all of them can supply nutritious food programs," said Ishartini at a press conference at his office, Thursday, October 24.

Ishartini emphasized that his party is committed to maintaining the quality of this type of fish to support programs that require a budget of IDR 800 billion per day.

"This cultivation product will support more, yes, for this program because production will be greater in cultivation," he said.

According to Ishartini, one of the areas that can supply fish for the MBZ program is eastern Indonesia.

He also stated that the KKP will open up opportunities for cooperation with various parties to maintain the quality of fish domestically.

"We will also open cooperation later, but it has been initiated. This meeting has been held many times, it is the same to be able to maintain quality in the domestic area," he said.
