BI Prepares Cash Of Up To IDR 3.5 Trillion For XXI PON

JAKARTA - The Aceh Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office has prepared Rp3.5 trillion in cash to meet cash needs as well as provide small denomination exchange services during the XXI Aceh-North Aceh National Sports Week (PON).

Head of the Bank Indonesia Aceh Representative Office Rony Widijarto in Banda Aceh, Friday, said the service was a form of Bank Indonesia's commitment and concern in supporting PON XXI through the provision of rupiah money that was suitable for distribution in the community.

"The provision of rupiah money during PON XXI is very adequate, amounting to Rp3.5 trillion," said Head of Bank Indonesia Aceh Rony Widijarto quoting Antara.

The provision of IDR 3.5 trillion for the XXI PON, with details at Bank Indonesia, Aceh Province, amounting to IDR 2 trillion and IDR 1.5 trillion at the Bank Indonesia Lhokseumawe Office. Meanwhile, the estimated money out in Aceh until the end of 2024 reached IDR 4.6 trillion.

"These needs have also considered the Aceh economy, which is expected to grow along with community mobility during PON," he said.

He explained that the money exchange activity, titled the distribution of Rupiah in Bumoe Aceh (Seramoe), was an effort to meet the community's needs for rupiah-worthy distribution during PON XXI from 9-20 September 2024.

Money exchange activities during the XXI PON were spread across several points in the PON match arena, both inside and outside Banda Aceh.

In addition to making it easier for people to exchange money, Bank Indonesia together with banks also organize integrated exchange services through the Seramoe Program.

"This integrated service is a collaboration with BSI, Bank Aceh and BTN Syariah. Through this integrated exchange service, the community, athletes, officials and tourists can exchange," he said.

On the other hand, Bank Indonesia also invites the public to always maintain and care for rupiah currency through a proud love campaign to understand rupiah.

"Love rupiah is realized by caring for rupiah currency that is owned by not folding, squeezing, crossed out, wetting, and stabilizing," he said.
