Leading Indonesia For 10 Years, Jokowi Shows Off Almost The Entire Area Has Been Powered

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) showed off during his 10-year government, almost all parts of Indonesia have been electrified. In fact, the percentage reaches 99 percent until 2024.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in his State Speech at the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 16.

Furthermore, Jokowi also said, the electrification figure has reached up to 99 percent of the territory in Indonesia. This coverage also targets remote areas.

"We continue to expand the electrification coverage to 99 percent in 2024, this year," said Jokowi in his speech.

Not only electricity coverage, Jokowi also said that internet connection can be accessed to the majority of regions in Indonesia. Where the figure reaches 79 percent of the region in the country.

"Similarly, we continue to increase internet coverage by 79 percent in 2024," he said.

Jokowi said that the electrification and internet connection could be useful for improving quality in various regions in Indonesia.

Including, he said, increasing the class of Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

"This will be a good ecosystem to encourage the digitization of MSMEs and the development of Indonesian start-ups. So that it will give birth to more quality young entrepreneurs in this country," he said.
