PT Hutama Karya (Persero) received two new contracts, namely the Phase 2 Infrastructure Building construction project in the Karawang Package 9 area belonging to Bank Indonesia (BI) and the rehabilitation of Jalan Kota Package 11 Section Maliana Phase 2 in Timor Leste with a total value of IDR 484 billion.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said that the construction project for the Phase 2 Infrastructure Building in the Karawang Package 9 area owned by BI is a series of developments for the Money Processing Center (SPU) which aims to increase efficiency in business processes and accountability in the management of rupiah currency in Indonesia.

"The project worth Rp166 billion will be carried out for 240 calendar days, starting last June and targeted for completion in February 2025," said Adjib in his official statement, quoted Tuesday, August 13.

In this project, Hutama Karya worked on various important aspects that include preparation work, road access construction, utilities to mechanical and electronic and plumbing.

As for other projects, namely the rehabilitation of roads in the city of Maliana, the contract has been signed separately by the EVP of the General Civil Division of Hutama Karya for the 2019-2024 period Ari Asmoko and the Minister of Public Works of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Samuel Mar Wayal on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Adjib said Hutama Karya would rehabilitate the main road in Maliana City as the center of the economy in the Bobonaro District, which is the third largest city in Timor Leste with a length of 18.8 kilometers (km).

"This is Hutama Karya's leap as a champion in the field of road infrastructure to start working on projects abroad. In this project, the existing condition of the road is damaged which disrupts the supply of goods, services and mobility to the city. So, immediate repairs are needed," he said.

In this project, Hutama Karya worked on a series of works from several stages of construction. These include ground excavations, road preparation, foundation layer piles, asphalting to the construction of drainage channels and sidewalks.

To complete the project which is targeted to be completed in September 2025, Hutama Karya has prepared an acceleration strategy by first understanding existing conditions in the field to prepare an appropriate and effective mitigation plan.

In addition, the company will ensure sufficient resources and materials. Thus, work can run more efficiently, coordinating intensely with related parties to ensure smooth project operations and provide intensive training to workers and subcontractors.

"The completion of this development contract will not only increase Hutama Karya's portfolio in supporting the construction of state financial management facilities, but also expand the project's reach abroad," he concluded.
