Crowded Polemic Of Rice Imports, Thousands Of Tons Of Dusty-Yellow Rice In West Java Bulog Warehouse

INDRAMAYU - About five thousand tons of rice in Bulog's warehouse in Indramayu and Cirebon, West Java (West Java) have experienced a decline in quality which is marked by dusty and yellowing conditions.

"Indeed, the name rice, yes, if it is stored for a long time it has decreased in quality. So in 2018 most of them have experienced a decline in quality, "said Head of Perum Bulog, Indramayu Branch, Dadan Irawan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 24.

The rice stocks originating from the 2018 procurement are still stored in the Indramayu branch of the Bulog warehouse.

When it is mentioned that imported rice is not selling well in the market, Dadan Irawan does not deny it. The condition of this rice stock is a concern because it spreads pests to new stocks considering that it is too old.

According to him, the total rice stock at Bulog Indramayu now stands at approximately 33 thousand tons and the rice stock is a combination of the remaining stock in 2018 to the initial procurement in 2021.

"The warehouse in Indramayu consists of stock in 2018 amounting to approximately 17 thousand tons, then in 2019 approximately 7,400 tons, in 2020 there are 2,000 tons, then in 2021 the new absorption is around 800 tons," said Dadan.

In line with Dadan Irawan, head of the Cirebon Bulog branch office, Ramadin Ruding, said that currently there are still 5,000 tons of imported rice in 2018 that are in warehouses and cannot be released.

"There are 5,000 tons of imported rice in 2018 that are still in storage," said Ramadin.

Currently, the total rice stock in the warehouse of the Cirebon Bulog Branch is 70,000 tons.
