Shocking News, New Users Of DANA Digital Payment Applications Rise 20 Million During The Pandemic

JAKARTA - The digital payment company PT Espay Debit Indonesia Koe or DANA recorded an increase in new users during the pandemic from 40 million to 60 million as of March 2020.

DANA CEO Vince Iswara said this figure grew significantly from the position in December 2020, which at that time recorded around 50 million users. According to him, the increasing number of new users indicates that digital culture is getting wider and reaches almost all lines of life.

"The rapid development of technology which is supported by the expansion of data communication networks to remote areas and the demands for adaptation during the pandemic are the reasons for the increasing attachment of digital technology in people's daily lives," he said in a press statement on Wednesday, March 24.

Vince added that the increasing number of users is a manifestation of the high level of public trust in digital wallet applications that provide technology excellence in a safe and comfortable manner.

"We also always pay attention to the security aspect as a priority. In fact, DANA is currently developing a face verification system for login, ”he explained.

Furthermore, the 4.0-style startup company is said to have formed partnerships with MSME players in a number of regions. Meanwhile, the regions experiencing the largest business growth include Aceh, South Sumatra, Riau, East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.

"The five regions occupy the top five positions for provinces with fast absorption of Business FUNDS with the highest increase reaching more than 700 percent," he said.

For information, the monetary authority of Bank Indonesia (BI) revealed that digital transactions are increasingly finding growth momentum during a pandemic like today. For example, the value of electronic money transactions in February this year was recorded at IDR 19.2 trillion, or an increase of 26.42 percent compared to last year.
