Prabowo-Gibran Wants Indonesia's Economy To Grow 8 Percent, Trade Minister Invites People To Fight Illegal Imports

CIKARANG - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan invites all parties to eradicate illegal imported goods in Indonesia. He said this condition should be a concern, because illegal imports can hinder the ideals of 8 percent economic growth carried by the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.

"We ask all parties to work together so that we can organize this," he said at a press conference and the destruction of Bekas Clothing (Balpres), at the Customs Hoarding Site (TPP) Cikarang, West Java, Tuesday, August 6.

"Well, this must be our serious concern so that our industry does not (loss), especially later the new government wants (economics) to grow by 8 percent," he continued.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas considered that the circulation of illegal imported goods in the country had a considerable impact on the erosion of the local product market.

Therefore, according to him, if illegal imports can be brought under control, the domestic economy can move. Because, the industry will grow, as well as MSMEs.

"If we clean up this (illegal import), our industry will grow. Our trade centers will grow, our MSMEs will also grow," he explained.

Previously reported, the Certain Goods Supervision Task Force (Satgas) Subjected to Import Commercial Administration, or the Illegal Import Task Force again secured illegal imported goods entering Indonesia. This time, the value reached Rp46.18 billion.

The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said the items confiscated by the Illegal Import Task Force were of various types. Starting from laptops, photocopy mesik, cellphones, used clothes, textile products, footwear to cosmetics.

"From the results of the action, the total value of goods is estimated at Rp46,188,205,400," he said at a press conference and the destruction of Bekasan Clothing (Balpres), at the Customs Hoarding Site (TPP) Cikarang, West Java, Tuesday, August 6.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas also detailed the findings of the task force. From the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, he said, he had taken action against 1,883 bales of used clothes. Then, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise through the main customs office of Tanjung Priok has also secured the balpres 3,044 bal.

Meanwhile, continued Zulhas, the Cikarang Customs supervision and service office has secured as many as 695 products consisting of carpets, towels and others. Then, 332 textile packages consist of nylon, polyester, synthetic and others.

"Then, 371 footwear. Then, 6,578 electronic pcs, laptops, cellphones, photocopy machines and others. 5,896 pieces of various types, finished clothes and accessories," he said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade has secured 20,000 roller rolls or TPT. Zulhas said the TPT was suspected of not being equipped with import permits, and surveyor reports. As well as other documents related to the origin of 20,000 rollers of goods.

"All of the goods that I conveyed earlier did not comply with compliance in imports in accordance with the applicable laws as a follow-up to the supervision of the task force that has carried out security against goods that are suspected to be illegal goods," he said.
