Moving 80 Percent, Harita Nickel's Net Profit Reaches IDR 1.8 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT Trimegah Bangun Persada Tbk (NCKL) or Harita Nickel recorded a surge in net profit during the first semester of 2024. Profit attributable to owners of the parent entity in the second quarter was IDR 1.80 trillion, an increase of 80 percent from IDR 1.0 trillion in the first quarter of 2024.

This profit achievement was supported by an increase in revenue of IDR 12.80 trillion, or an increase of 25 percent from IDR 10.24 trillion in the same period the previous year.

Head of Investor Relations Lukito Gozali said this growth was driven by an increase in production output and higher sales volume across mining and processing operations.

"Harita Nickel's production capacity continues to grow, with the increase in capacity of the RKEF smelter and the HPAL purification facility," he said, Thursday, August 1.

He added that the company's mining operations showed an increase in nickel ore sales from quarter to quarter, due to the increasing demand for nickel ore for smelters and purification facilities in Harita Nickel's subsidiary.

The company's operational achievements include a significant increase in the output of nickel ore production and sales volume. The sales volume of nickel ore in the first half of 2024 reached 8.37 million wet metric tons (wmt), an increase of 29 percent compared to 6.49 million wmt in the same period in the previous year.

The RKEF operation experienced an increase in FeNi's output by 69 percent year-on-year, reaching 63,414 tons in the first half of 2024, exceeding production capacity.

HPAL operations also showed a strong performance, with an increase in MHP Ni output of 28 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, with a total of 38,334 tons in the first half of 2024.

This growth is also supported by an increase in the production of the purification facility from PT HPL which exceeds the production capacity and second HPAL refining facility, PT ONC, which has started production in the second quarter of 2024.
