JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) reported that the progress of the access toll road construction to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) reached an average of 86.98 percent of the three sections. This development was accelerated to support the smooth implementation of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day at IKN.

This was revealed when PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the IKN development with the Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force of the Ministry of PUPR Danis Sumadilaga on Monday, July 22. The three toll roads reviewed include sections 3A, 3B and 5A.

"This toll road will be opened functionally to support the smooth commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN Nusantara on August 17," reads a statement in a video upload on the official Instagram account @kemenpupr, quoted Wednesday, July 24.

The Ministry of PUPR noted that the progress of the three toll road sections access to IKN included the 3.4-kiriangau Karangjoang-KKT section (km) which reached 81.15 percent. Section 2 namely, the 7.3 km KKT Karingau-Civil Intersection toll road has reached 91.53 percent.

Finally, section 5A, namely, the 6.7 km Simpang Tempadung-Jambatan toll road on Balang Island has reached 88.28 percent. Minister Basuki said, so far there have been no obstacles in the construction of the IKN access toll road.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR said that the three IKN Toll Road sections were ready to be used ahead of the implementation of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17.
