Indonesian Exports May 2024 Capai 22.23 Billion US Dollars

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded an export value of May 2024 of US$22.33 billion, an increase of 13.82 percent compared to the previous month's 19.62 billion US dollars.

Deputy for Statistics for BPS Production M. Habibullah said that the increase in export performance was driven by exports of gas oil (oil and gas) and non-oil.

The performance of the value of oil and gas exports in May 2024 was recorded at 1.42 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.12 percent compared to the previous month which reached 1.35 billion US dollars in April 2024.

In addition, the non-oil and gas value also rose to 20.91 billion US dollars, an increase of 14.46 percent compared to the previous month which reached 18.27 billion US dollars.

"The increase in export value in May 2024 on a monthly basis was mainly driven by an increase in non-oil and gas exports, namely in electric machinery and equipment and its parts or codes (HS 85) by 26.66 percent with a 1.34 percent stake," he explained at a press conference, Wednesday, June 19.

Then, the increase in exports was also driven by exports of metal ore, tarak and ash or HS 26 code of 25.96 percent with a share of 1.09 percent, vehicles and their parts or codes (HS 87) with 20.80 percent or with a share of 1.00 percent.

Meanwhile, the increase in oil and gas exports was mainly driven by an increase in kerosene exports with a share of 0.34 percent.

Meanwhile, the value of exports in May 2024 was recorded to have increased by 2.86 percent compared to the same period last year which reached 21.71 billion US dollars.

Habibullah conveyed that this increase was driven by an increase in non-oil and gas exports, especially in metal, tarak and ash or code (HS 26), nickel and goods from it (HS 75), and machinery, electrical equipment and parts (HS 85).
