JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is completing the construction of the Glendoh Market in Grobogan Regency, Central Java.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of the Glendoh Market in Grobogan was carried out by the Central Java Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR through APBN funding for 2023-2024 worth IDR 25 billion.

The construction of the market building was built by the implementing contractor PT Pradipta Bumi Konstruksi on an area of 11,331 square meters with a building area of 3,397 square meters.

"The Glendoh Market construction work has started in December 2023 and is targeted for completion at the end of July 2024," Basuki said in a statement, Monday, June 17.

Overall, Glendoh Market consists of 4 blocks that can accommodate 200 traders with the distribution of the main market buildings, namely Block A consisting of 10 kiosks, Block B with 12 kiosks and 48 stalls, Block C with 12 kiosks and Block D with 58 kiosks and 56.

Later, the market will be equipped with supporting facilities, such as toilets, prayer rooms and pump houses. In addition, it is also equipped with chicken slaughterhouses, ground water tanks, Wastewater Processing Installations (IPAL), waste banks, generator houses, parking areas, drainage, environmental access, regional fences and landscapes.

It is known that the construction site of the Glendoh Market is adjacent to the Agro Horticulture Market and Purwodadi Morning Market, thus contributing to improving the function of the local area as a center of people's trade in Grobogan Regency.

"It is hoped that the completion of the construction of a healthy and hygienic Glendoh Market will increase the means of trading goods/services in meeting the daily needs of the community, especially in Grobogan Regency," he added.
