Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Budi Karya Sumadi revealed that the indicative ceiling of the Ministry of Transportation in 2025, when the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government was set at IDR 24.76 trillion.

This figure has decreased by Rp13.83 trillion or 35.85 percent compared to the ceiling obtained by the Ministry of Transportation in the 2024 fiscal year of Rp38.60 trillion.

In front of Commission V of the DPR, Budi admitted that the budget was insufficient. He said that if the transportation budget is cut significantly, it will disrupt the running of the transportation program that has been prepared.

"There was a decrease of Rp. 38 trillion to Rp. 24 trillion, very high. Of course this interferes with the planned programs," he said in a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR, in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 5.

Budi explained that the Ministry of Transportation's 2025 ceiling of needs was IDR 80.63 trillion. In detail, the ceiling of needs at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is IDR 18.14 trillion, but in the 2025 indicative ceiling it is only IDR 4.78 trillion.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Railways of the Rp14.21 trillion requirement only received Rp1.65 trillion. Then, the Directorate General of Land Transportation from the need of Rp18.14 trillion, only received Rp4.78 trillion. Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, the need for Rp19.60 trillion, only received Rp10.37 trillion.

Furthermore, Budi said that in the government's 2025 work plan (RKP) there are three main points, namely realizing quality human resources, quality infrastructure, and a sustainable inclusion economy.

"The transportation development framework from 2025 to 2029 focuses on three aspects, remains on basic infrastructure, supporting infrastructure for transformation, economy and urban infrastructure as well as supporting human resources and related to disadvantaged areas," he explained.

Therefore, Budi asked for DPR's support so that the budget for 2025 was added at IDR 15.75 trillion. Budi said this additional budget was needed because the 2025 indicative ceiling did not cover transportation subsidies, the implementation of Eid and Christmas 2025 transportation, and the improvement in the quality of human resources. transportation.

"We hope that the assistance from Commission V's mother will help and we are ready to provide data related to what programs we must do," he said.
