Budget Telan Rp96.54 Billion, Ministry Of PUPR Completes KSPN Infrastructure Wakatobi Sultra Phase I

The Ministry of PUPR has completed the arrangement of the Wakatobi National Tourism Strategic Area in Southeast Sulawesi Province (Doc. PUPR).

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the arrangement of the Wakatobi National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) in Southeast Sulawesi Province.

Pada Penataan KSPN Wakatobi Phase I, Kementerian PUPR melalui Balai Prasarana Permukiman Wilayah (BPPW) Sulawesi Tenggara Direktorat Jenderal Cipta Karya telah menyelesaikan empat destinasi wisata unggulan.

The four destinations include Merdeka Square, Puncak Toliamba, Sombu Dive, and Lake Kapota with a total allocated budget of IDR 96.54 billion.

The Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of PUPR, Diana Kusumastuti, said that support for infrastructure management by all parties is a very important stage of the development of Wakatobi KSPN infrastructure.

"Hopefully, the infrastructure that has been built can be directly utilized by the community with the support of supervision and maintenance from local governments. This is a tangible manifestation of our efforts to maintain the sustainability of the environment, culture and tourism," Diana said in her official statement, Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Merdeka Square itself is designed as an open space that is the center of community activities. Meanwhile, Puncak Toliamba, Sombu Dive, and Lake Kapota are natural tourism destinations that have their own attractiveness for tourists.

Thus, the arrangement of the area carried out includes open plaza areas and landscape arrangement as well as tourism support facilities, such as souvenir kiosks for MSMEs, access roads, to piers and viewing towers.

The arrangement of the Wakatobi KSPN Phase I will start from October 2022 to November 26, 2023. Then after the physical work is completed, it will be handed over operationally to the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government in December 2023.

Head of the Southeast Sulawesi BPPW of the Directorate General of Human Settlements, Septina Rachmawati, said that her party was continuing the arrangement of Phase II Wakatobi KSPN which was centered on the construction of the Waterfront Marina infrastructure and the Liya Palace.

The tourism area structuring activity is a combination of modern tourism and historical preservation. Currently, the physical progress of the Phase II Wakatobi KSPN arrangement has reached 23.5 percent.

"With a budget allocation of Rp139.6 billion, it is hoped that the work on the arrangement of Waterfront Marina and Keraton Liya can be completed this year," he said.
