Peak Homecoming Flow At Angkasa Pura II Airport, Passengers Reach 313,170 People

JAKARTA - Operations and services at 20 airports of PT Angkasa Pura II at the peak of the homecoming flow on April 6, 2024, went smoothly.

At the peak of the April 6 homecoming flow, the cumulative number of aircraft passenger movements at airports managed by AP II reached 313,170 passengers.

In line with that, the number of passengers on Eid 2024 transport aircraft at all AP II airports on April 3 - 6 (D-7 to D-4) was recorded to have touched 1.08 million or an increase of about 15 percent compared to the same period last year of around 940,000 passengers.

Especially at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is the busiest airport in Indonesia, the number of passengers at the peak of the April 6 homecoming flow was recorded at 187,750 passengers. Thus, on April 3 - 6 (H-7 to D-4) the number of passengers reached 658,607 passengers, an increase of about 16 percent compared to the same period last year.

AP II VP of Corporate Communication Cin Asmoro said good collaboration among all airport stakeholders was the main key to smooth service and operations at the peak of homecoming flow.

Cin Asmoro said that all stakeholders at AP II airport have the same goal on Eid transportation, namely welcoming and helping people, especially airplane passengers, to meet their families in this holy month.

"Thank you for the support of the community and stakeholders, including airlines, AirNav Indonesia, ground handling, Customs, Immigration, Quarantine, TNI and Polri, as well as the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Transportation, so that operations and services at AP II airports in general can run well," he said in his official statement, quoted on Sunday, April 7.

Furthermore, Cin Asmoro said that one indicator of the smooth running of operations and services on homecoming (H-7 to D-4) is the timeliness rate of flights (On Time Performance/OTP) from airlines which reaches an average of 95% at all AP II airports.

The smooth service and operational of Eid transportation, including the peak of the homecoming flow, is also supported by infrastructure equipped with the latest information technology system, namely the Terminal Operation Center (TOC) at each airport.

Meanwhile, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Control Center (AOCC), Airport Infrastructure Control Center (AICC), Land Transport Control Center (LTCC) and Airport Security Operation Center (ASOC) were also operated.

"All of these infrastructures, which are equipped with the latest information technology, play a significant role in maintaining the smooth operation of flights and services in the midst of high flight traffic," said Cin Asmoro.

Cin Asmoro said that the smooth service at AP II airport during the peak of the homecoming flow was also due to various activation programs for airplane passengers which were held at the terminal.

"We present the nuances of Ramadan at AP II airports. At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, beautification is also carried out, such as at Terminal 3 which comes with a new fasad and landscape with a garden concept at a number of points," explained Cin Asmoro.

Although the peak of the homecoming flow has been passed well, AP II airport remains focused on serving airplane passengers and airlines throughout the Eid 2024 transportation period.

All airport personnel and staff, as well as facilities at the airport, are confirmed to be ready throughout Eid 2024 transportation.

"AP II Airport must always provide the best service to airplane passengers. Airport personnel and staff remain fully alert in serving people who travel by air during the Eid transportation period," said Cin Asmoro.

The 5 busiest AP II airports on D-7 to D-4 are Soekarno-Hatta Airport (658,607 passengers); Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang (97,891 passengers); Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru (46,320 passengers); Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta (45,291 passengers); and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang (42,125 passengers).

In addition to the 5 airports, AP II also manages 15 other airports namely Supadio (Pontianak), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Iskandar Muda (Banda Aceh), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjungpinang), Sultan Thaha (Jambi), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), Silangit (North Tapanuli), Kertajati (Majalengka), Banyuwangi (Banyuwangi), Tjilik Riwut (Palangka Raya), Radin Inten II (Lampung), HAS Hanandjoeddin (Tanjung Pandan), Fatmawati Soekarno (Bengkulu), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), and General Besar Sudirman (Purbalingga).
