JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) encourages the development of the coffee processing industry in South Sulawesi (Sulsel).

Head of BPSDMI Masrokhan said, South Sulawesi is one of the provinces that has the potential for coffee development. The province in eastern Indonesia has a fairly wide planting area and a very supportive agroclimatology situation.

One of the efforts made by his party is to develop the coffee industry in South Sulawesi, namely by organizing a 3 in 1 Training and Training program for coffee processing in Bantaeng Regency, which is located in the southern part of the province.

He assessed that Bantaeng is one of the regions producing robusta and Arabica coffee, because it has varying heights ranging from 0-1,500 meters above sea level (masl).

"With the great potential for coffee development, the Ministry of Industry through the Makassar Industrial Training Center (BDI) plans to organize a 3 in 1 Education and Training program for coffee processing so that human resources in Bantaeng and its surroundings get the right skills to manage natural resources in their area," Masrokhan said in a written statement, quoted on Saturday, April 6.

The 3 in 1 Training and Training program is a program that provides three things at once in one package for participants, namely competency training so that participants can master the skills needed by the industry, competency certificates that are useful in career level and work placement in related industries.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Center for Human Resources Education and Training (Pusdiklat SDM) Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Saiful Bahri, said that the implementation of the training aims to improve the quality of human resources (HR) and regional income. Thus, it becomes one of the leading economic clusters in the region.

The plan is for the Ministry of Industry to hold a 3 in 1 Education and Training in Bantaeng in May 2024.

"The implementation of this training will optimize the function of the Banyorang Coffee Processing Center so that it can become a source of regional income and become one of the Leading Economic Clusters in Bantaeng Regency," he said.
