PALANGKA RAYA - Investment realization in Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) in 2023 exceeded the target set by the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM).

"In 2023, investment realization will reach Rp. 19.10 trillion or exceed the target given by BKPM to the provincial government of Rp. 16.09 trillion," said Head of the Central Kalimantan Integrated and One Stop Service Investment Service (DPMPTSP) Sutoyo as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 6.

According to him, the realization of investment in 2023 reached 118.74 percent of the BKPM target.

When compared to 2022, investment realization in 2023 will experience a growth of 32.44 percent.

Sutoyo explained that the investment realization of Rp. 19.10 trillion consisted of foreign investment (PMA) of Rp. 10.32 trillion and domestic investment (PMDN) of Rp. 8.78 trillion.

According to him, the primary sector is still the highest contributor to investment realization, namely food, plantation and livestock crop sub-sectors and consecutive mining sub-sectors that have the largest contribution in investment realization in 2023.

"Meanwhile, for the secondary sector, the food industry sub-sector has the potential to become a new leading sector in Central Kalimantan," he said.

He said that in the last three years, the food industry sub-sector has entered the top three highest investment realizations in Central Kalimantan, both in PMA and PMDN.

Furthermore, he said regionally, the highest PMA realization was in East Kotawaringin, followed by West Kotawaringin, and Murung Raya. As for the realization of PMDN, the ranks are Kapuas, East Kotawaringin, and North Barito.

"Based on realization data, we can conclude, namely, in the midst of the dominance of the primary sector, the food industry sub-sector has the potential to become a new regional leading sector," he said.

Furthermore, cumulatively, the realization of investment in Central Kalimantan in both the western and eastern regions is evenly distributed. It's just that it requires a little strengthening for the central region.

"I also remind and ask business actors, both PMA and PMDN, to be orderly in submitting reports of investment activities (LKPM) online through the oss.go.id page. Especially for business actors who are in the construction stage and micro-business actors, LKPM must be submitted every six months," he concluded.
