There Is Bawaslu At The Next-Gen 2024 BUMN Event, Erick: I Did Nothing

JAKARTA - The Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, admitted that he was surprised that the event gathered with thousands of young employees of state-owned companies at the Next-Gen 2024 BUMN event were also attended by Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) officers.

From VOI's observation at the location, the event, which took place at Pondok Indah Mall (PIM), South Jakarta, was attended by eight officers dressed in Bawaslu.

Erick emphasized that he did nothing. He said, the event was held only to consolidate with young BUMN employees.

"From me regarding Bawaslu, I welcome. I don't think I did anything. I consolidated so that earlier, yes, it was the same, this is Next Gen, this is an event that I have often done," said Erick at Pondok Indah Mall, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 13.

Erick also explained that the Next-Gen BUMN has become a routine agenda held by various state-owned companies. In fact, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was also held virtually.

"When COVID-19 used Zoom. Today we are trying, COVID-19 has been completed. And we know our generation is bonding, he said, it is important for bonding. Now this is what I give, try, to encourage. Indeed, the achievements that have been done are very good," said Erick.

Therefore, Erick assessed that the D-1 Election was not a barrier to holding routine activities.

"Like this, is it because tomorrow there is an election, restaurants have to close? There are activities that are carried out with many events, it's not allowed. The important thing is that we take care. I take care, and I have finished leave, I work again," said Erick.

Erick also asked that the Next-Gen 2024 event not be associated with negative things. He made sure he obeyed the rules.
