Already Received Ahok's Resignation Letter, Special Staff Erick Thohir: Thank You

JAKARTA - Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga said that his party had received Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok's resignation letter from the position of President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero).

Arya also thanked the former Governor of DKI for his choice to resign from the company's commut position.

"The resignation letter has arrived with us. So, yes, we thank Pak Basuki or Pak Ahok for submitting his resignation letter," he told reporters, Friday, February 2.

Furthermore, Arya said, what Ahok did was the same as what other commissioners had done who chose to get involved in the campaign.

"This is also the same as other commissioners who have also withdrawn because they were involved in campaigns such as Arief Rosyid, Abdee Telkom, all of them have resigned. So for us, thank you because they have submitted their resignation letter for being involved in the campaign," he said.

Previously, it was reported that Basuki Tjahaja Purnama Ahok's eyebrows had resigned from the position of President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero).

Ahok chose to leave the position in order to focus on winning the candidate pair (Paslon) Number 03 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD in the 2024 presidential election.

Ahok admitted that he had sent his resignation letter to the Ministry of SOEs.

The letter was signed by Ahok on Friday, February 2.

"This upload is proof of the receipt of my Resignation Letter as the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) which I submitted today, February 2, 2024," Ahok wrote on his official Instagram account @basuki.btp, quoted Friday, February 2.

Ahok admitted that this decision was taken so that he would not be confused in determining his political direction. At the same time, want to focus on supporting Ganjar-Mahfud.

"With this, I declare that I support and will participate in campaigning for presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. This is so that there is no more confusion regarding my political direction. Freedom! Independence! Independence!," wrote Ahok.
