Pertamina EP Wants To Prove JLE-001 Wells In Central Sulawesi Have A Potential 40 MMBOE

JAKARTA - Pertamina EP and the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) carried out the exploration well of Julang Emas (JLE)-001 at the exploration drilling site of Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi.

Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D Suryodipuro, said that this exploration drilling was intended to test and evaluate the potential of oil and gas content with a total of 40 MMBOE (Million Barrels of Oil Equivalent) resources from 2 target formations.

"This effort was carried out by SKK Migas and KKKS in order to find new oil and gas reserves or giant disclosures to meet national energy needs," said Hudi in his statement to the media, Thursday, February 1.

The exploration well drilling program is planned to be approximately 80 days until the production test is complete and has started on Tuesday, January 30.

Just so you know, this onshore drilling is a series of drilling for the exploration of Indonesia in the Sulawesi Region which previously worked on the exploration of the East Wolai (EWO)-001 and West Wolai (WWO)-001 in the 4th quarter of 2023.

The Julang Emas (JLE)-001 well, located on the Donggi field, precisely in Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi, will be drilled in a directional manner using Rig PDSI #04.3 with a plan of final depth wells in 2000's mMD (metre methamphed depth).

SKK Migas hopes that the drilling of the Julang Emas (JLE)-001 well can find massive oil and gas reserves, thus making a real contribution to the country to support the 1 Million Barrel (BOPD) program and 12 billion cubic feet of gas (BSCFD) in 2030.

Hudi added that drilling or exploration in the Sulawesi region is currently being carried out because Sulawesi has extraordinary oil and gas potential.

"This is an extraordinary starting point, in early 2024, because massive exploration can certainly have a positive impact and efforts are made to increase national oil and gas production," concluded Hudi.
