Bahlil Shows Off His Times Of OSS Differences With Tom Lembong

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia alluded to the Online Single Submission (OSS) project which had polemics in the era of the leadership of Thomas Lembong or Tom Lembong.

For your information, OSS is an electronically integrated business licensing system managed and organized by the OSS institution for the implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.

Bahlil said that OSS had become a polemic because Tom Lembong refused the OSS project to be under the BKPM when he served as Head of BKPM for the 2016-2019 period.

"I want to convey the position of OSS, because in the past all permits were through OSS. Well, in 2018-2019 this was a very polemic year because the previous BKPM leader refused to accept OSS was in the BKPM," he said at a press conference, at the Office of the Ministry of Investment, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 24.

Because Tom Lembong refused, continued Bahlil, OSS was under the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, during the Daermin Nasution era. At that time, said Bahlil, many entrepreneurs complained about this.

"Once again, this concerns leadership, not omni-omons. Now there was a debate between the Coordinating Minister for the Economy at that time, Mr. Darmin, and the Head of BKPM," he said.

Bahlil said that when he was appointed as Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, the OSS system was taken over by the BKPM. The results, said Bahlil, in 2019 the business identification number (NIB) processed from OSS reached 1,927 per day. Meanwhile, in 2018, only 829 per day.

"With the same budget, the delegation has been carried out in 2019 but we are in transition. Now I decide that we must focus, the business world must provide the best space and we must provide good service. We do the Job Creation Law," he said.

The former Chairperson of Hipmi believes that OSS's position has accelerated compared to before he served as investment minister.

"Alhamudillah, now OSS can issue NIB as of 11.096 and for 2023 we are able to score 4.061.883 NIB," he said.

"This is also an example between the completion of Harvard and the completion of the Stie Port Rumbai which is not on the google. So I don't think we should be too raised where we graduate from school, the important thing is that we can serve the country and we shouldn't be foreign spies," he continued.
