New Regulation Signed, Motorcycle Incentives Convert Officially To IDR 10 Million

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif officially signed Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Number 13 of 2023 concerning Amendments to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 3 of 2023.

Dalam beleid yang ditandatangani 15 Desember 2023 tersebut mengungkut aturan baru yakni penambahan jumlah besan insentif konversi motor listrik yang sebelumnya dibandol Rp7 juta menjadi sebesar Rp10 juta per unit.

"The value of the discount on conversion costs is Rp. 10,000,000 for each conversion motorbike," reads article 5 of the regulation.

While the conversion costs listed in the regulation include costs for battery packs, gross DC (BLDC) motors and controllers that are adjusted to the details of the electric energy capacity on batteries and electric motor power.

Meanwhile, the overall conversion fee that will receive the incentive is set at a maximum of Rp. 17 million.

With the regulation, customers only need to spend Rp. 7 million. The incentive assistance is given at most 150,000 motorcycle units in 2024.

In addition to revising the amount of incentives, the government has also changed the requirements for beneficiaries which were previously only intended for individuals, now added to community groups and government or non-governmental institutions.

The recipients of the conversion assistance can only be done through a conversion workshop that has been determined by the government.
