JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has a move to overcome the intermittency of new renewable energy-based clean power plants.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Dadan Kusdiana said that the installation of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) spread is believed not to cause intermittency in the electricity system of PT PLN (Persero). This conclusion was obtained after the Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI) installed a device in 100 different locations on the island of Java. This step was also executed in order to increase the capacity of EBT installed through PLTS.

"We have installed a pyrometer, namely a tool to measure radiation in 100 places on the island of Java to prove whether it is true that if we install the PLTS intermetricity, it will really affect the power system in PLN. In conclusion, the PLTS should be installed widely. Actually, before this conclusion is installed, we already know, but we have to have evidence," Dadan said in a statement to the media, Monday, December 18.

The main factor of intermittency in PLTS, continued Dadan, is actually influenced by weather factors. Therefore, the installation of PLTS spread across strategic locations is believed not to cause intermittency in existing electricity systems.

"We really have to think about a strategy for how to install and install PLTS. If in one place it will definitely be disrupted and we have proven that 100 locations are installed spread, there is no intermittency because it can fill each other. The intermittency is not caused by the changing sun, but because of natural factors in the atmosphere. There is rain, there are clouds, there are all kinds of things," explained Dadan.

The accuracy of this technical test is the basis for the government's consideration in boosting the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy as a source of electrical energy for the Indonesian people.

"The program is getting better, the tools are getting more accurate. So we are now in the time that there are no more things that might challenge the utilization of EBT in the country. There are exceptions, we don't want to just be an investment place to install wind, install solar, but we don't make the tools and components. This is what we are looking for the best way, which one actually has to come first," concluded Dadan.
