OJK Task Force Has Blocked 1,623 Illegal Loans And 18 Bodong Investment Entities

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said that from January 1, 2023 to November 11, 2023, the Illegal Financial Eradication Officers Unit (Satgas Pasti) had stopped or blocked 1,641 illegal financial entities.

Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial Services Business Actors, Education and Protection of OJK Consumers, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, detailed that there were 18 illegal investment entities and 1,623 illegal online loan entities (pinjol).

According to Friderica OJK, 9,380 illegal entity complaints have been received, including 8,991 illegal loan complaints, and 388 illegal investment complaints.

"With the development of the number of illegal entities that have been suspended or blocked from 2017 to November 2023, around 7,502 illegal entities have been closed," he said in the virtual November 2023 RDK, Monday, December 4.

Friderica said that in terms of eradicating illegal financial activities, OJK together with all members of the Task Force must continue to improve coordination in handling illegal investments and illegal loans. Previously, the number of Task Forces must have 12 ministries/agencies, but currently it has increased to 16 ministries/agencies.

"This addition is expected to further strengthen the PASTI Task Force in handling cases and provide a deterrent effect for illegal entities that harm the community," he explained.
