OJK Revokes BPR Business Permit Again, This Time It's Persada Guna's Turn

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has again revoked the Persada Guna Bank Economic Business License (BPR) due to violations of applicable regulations.

Meanwhile, the revocation of the BPR permit is the fourth revocation that has been carried out by the OJK so far this year. This note is more than the revocation of the BPR permit that occurred in 2022, which was only two BPRs.

Previously, OJK this year revoked BPR Bagong Inti Marga (BIM) business licenses in East Java, BPR Karya Remaja Indramayu (BPR KRI) in West Java, and BPR Indotama UKM Sulawesi.

"(Revocation) due to violations of applicable regulations," said OJK Banking Supervision Chief Executive Dian Ediana Rae, in the virtual November 2023 RDK, Monday, December 4.

Furthermore, Dian revealed that the settlement of BPR rights and obligations would be carried out by a liquidation team formed by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in accordance with the provisions in the legislation.

"Strict action against BPR involved in fraud is carried out in the context of consumer protection referring to the PPSK Law (Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law)," he said,

Meanwhile, the two BPRs whose business licenses were revoked include BPR Bagong Inti Marga and BPR Karya Remaja Indramayu, LPS has liquidated,

In addition, LPS noted that BPR Karya Remaja Indramayu was the second largest BPR to be closed with 34,000 accounts with a total third party fund (DPK) of Rp337.17 billion.
