JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the realization of the 2023 Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program was reached by 99.48 percent.

Basuki said the BSPS program with the Cash Labor Intensive Method (PKT) aims to maintain people's purchasing power and reduce unemployment.
The Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Housing continues to increase the availability of decent housing for the community, one of which is through the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program.
In 2023, the BSPS program budget is allocated IDR 3.34 trillion with a target of improving the quality of self-help houses by 150,421 units.
Based on the records of the Directorate General of Housing until November 17, 2023, the financial realization of the Directorate General of Housing in the BSPS program in 2023 is IDR 3.23 trillion or 87.82 percent of the total budget, with a physical realization of 99.48 percent or around 149,539 units built.
The BSPS program, which is implemented using a labor-intensive method, has provided benefits by absorbing 281,128 workers or around 93.47 percent of the target of 300,760 workers.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, said that the BSPS program is part of the real form of the state being present in helping people to live in decent houses.
The BSPS program can provide wider benefits for low-income people, not only having a more decent, healthy and comfortable home, but also reducing unemployment and maintaining people's purchasing power.
"Basically, the BSPS Program funds distributed by the government are stimulant so that people also have enthusiasm and encourage mutual cooperation between residents when carrying out house construction," he said.
One of the locations that received assistance from the 2023 BSPS program was the City of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan Province as many as 110 units.
