JAKARTA - The Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli) said that the development of electric vehicles in the country continues to increase every year.
Based on data owned by Aismoli, it is recorded that there are 70,000 electric motorcycles that have been used by the public.
"The ownership of motorcycles from 2018 until now is quite high, almost reaching 70,000 motorcycles that are now in the community, not to mention (if added) electric bicycles," said General Chairperson (Ketum) Aismoli Budi Setiyadi at the 2023 EV Expo Inabuyer press conference at the Kemenkop UKM Building, Jakarta, Friday, October 27.
Budi said the growth was in line with various regulations issued by the government, including the provision of a number of incentives.
Not only that, the growth of electric vehicles can also be seen from the increase in electric motorcycle manufacturers and Agents of Brand Holders (APM).
"The industry is growing quite rapidly, not to mention what we heard in the near future there are four companies (company) that are building electric vehicle batteries, in Jakarta and Semarang," he said.
