Money Turnover In MotoGP 2023 Targeted More Than IDR 4.5 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney targets the circulation of money during the 2023 MotoGP event to reach more than IDR 4.5 trillion.

This circulation of money will be increased, especially for the Lombok region, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

As is known, this world-class motorcycle racing event will be held on October 13-15, 2023 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit.

Director of Marketing and Consumer Experience InJourney, Maya Watono is optimistic that the circulation of money during this year's MotoGP event will increase compared to last year. Especially for the Lombok area.

"Obviously we want last year to know Rp4.5 trillion, but indeed the economic impact of the region we have to improve so that in NTB, in the Lombok area and around it we want to focus on the impact economy, indeed the multipliers are in the Lombok area and its surroundings," Maya said when met in the Sarinah area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 3.

Furthermore, Maya explained, the financial turnover was supported by a number of economic activities in Lombok during the MotoGP. Such as airplane flights, accommodation, to MSMEs or other businesses.

"If the support will not be much different from the flights, accommodation, employment, business, MSMEs involved. Those parameters and indirect will not change, but there are several measurement parameters that we add," he said.

Regarding employment, Maya said, the 2023 MotoGP in Mandalika also provides great opportunities for the surrounding community to contribute directly to the championship.

We have conducted training for marshals who will serve during the championship. Approximately 400 marshals or 95 percent are local residents who are ready to serve, even have the opportunity to participate in the MotoGP championship abroad. All of this is an effort to make Indonesia proud in the eyes of the world," he said.

Maya explained that the calculation of the multiplier effect or multiplier effect this year is also seen from the trend of local economic activity during this event.

"We will measure this from last MotoGP, we have to look at the trend from year to year, of course we hope it improves, if we look at the growth of sportsurism at 8 percent, yes we also want around 8-10 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo ensured that the implementation of the 2023 MotoGP will attract tourism, both foreign and domestic.

"We hope that this event will really become a catalyst to be able to build the best tourism destination in Mandalika based on sport tourism, of course it will also provide benefits for the entire NTB community," said Tiko.
