Pertamax Price Rises, Director General Of Oil And Gas Says There Is A Possibility That People Switch To Using Pertalite

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) adjusted fuel prices on October 1 on several products such as Pertamax which has an octane value (RON) of 92 from the previous IDR 13,300 to IDR 14,000 per liter.

With this increase, the Director General (Dirjen) of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji said there was a possibility that Pertamax users would switch to using Pertalite.

The reason is, the price difference between the two products reaches Rp. 4,000.

"If there is a possibility, but I don't think there are many in the number. But there is a possibility," said Tutuka who was met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, October 2.

However, Tutuka ensured that the government did not plan to increase the price of Pertalite, which is currently still priced at IDR 10,000. "Oh no (up)," added Tutuka.

Previously, ESDM Minister Arifin Tasrif predicted that the price of Pertamax Cs would rise again. This is because the world oil price has reached around 90 US dollars per barrel.

With this possibility, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources estimates that people will return to using Pertalite.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said, the increase in crude oil prices will have an impact on the price of non-subsidized fuel in Pertamax. So, it will encourage people to use Pertalite.

"The price is high? Indeed, there can't be any other source, like it or not, you have to buy from there. That (price) Pertamax will be high later, so the Pertalite will be used again," he said at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Jakarta, on Thursday, September 8. PT Pertamina (Persero) adjusted the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) as of October 1, 2023.

There has been an increase in prices for fuel sold at Pertamina gas stations such as Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, Pertamina Dex, and Pertamax Green 95.

For example, the price of Pertamax fuel has officially increased to Rp. 14,000 per liter from the September period which was sold for Rp. 13,300 per liter for the DKI Jakarta area.

Meanwhile, Pertamax Green 95 rose from IDR 15,000 per liter to IDR 16,000 per liter.

Meanwhile, Pertamax Turbo is now priced at IDR 16,600 per liter from the previous IDR 15,900 per liter.

Then, Dexlite from the previous Rp16,350 per liter to Rp17,200 per liter. Then, Pertamina Dex from Rp16,900 per liter to Rp17,900 per liter.
