2.129 Families in West Bandung Receive Assistance for Free Connection of PLN Electricity

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) is connecting electricity to 2.129 underprivileged people in Cikahuripan Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency.

The New Installation of Electricity Assistance Program (BPBL) is assistance from the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as an effort to realize equitable energy and increase electrification ratios throughout Indonesia.

Director of Electricity Program Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Wanhar said that the government's main goal in rolling out the BPBL program is to achieve electrification ratio in Indonesia.

Because, Wanhar assesses that electricity is the main support for community needs.

"We at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources hope that the BPBL program can accelerate the achievement of the electrification ratio in Indonesia, so that people can enjoy electricity throughout Indonesia," said Wanhar, Wednesday 28 June.

Main Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo explained, PLN is fully committed to supporting the BPBL program as an effort to realize the electrification ratio target of 100 percent by 2024.

For this reason, PLN will continue to support the government's efforts to increase the electrification ratio (RE) so that all people can access electricity and can drive the wheels of the economy.

"This is a form of PLN's support for a program designed by the Government, in which all people can experience and access electricity and hopefully with this electricity, it can help move the wheels of the economy," said Darmawan.

General Manager of PLN West Java Main Distribution Unit, Susiana Mutia said that in 2022, the BPBL program had electrified 80,183 households in 22 provinces in Indonesia where 14,307 of them were in West Java, the number of recipients of this assistance is targeted to continue to increase in the following years. .

"In 2023, it is targeted that 22.000 households in West Java will receive BPBL benefits. The assistance provided is in the form of home electrical installations with 3 light points and 1 contact box, inspection and testing of the installation of the Certificate of Operation Worthiness (SLO), connection fees to PLN and also prime electricity token.” Susiana concluded.
