Jasa Marga Records 1.5 Million Vehicles Back To Jabotabek

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted that 1,589,499 vehicles had returned to the Jabotabek area on D1 to D+6 of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H or Lebaran 2023 which crashed on Saturday-Saturday (22-29 April 2023) or for 8 days.

This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (from Merak), GT Ciawi (from Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (from the direction of Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (from the direction of Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area increased 45.63 percent compared to normal traffic with a total of 1,091,466 vehicles," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana, Sunday, April 30.

When compared to the Lebaran 2022 period, said Lisye, this total traffic volume increased by 0.61 percent with a total of 1,579,859 vehicles. Meanwhile, when compared to the prediction of the 2023 Eid traffic volume in the same period, the total traffic volume was 1.66 percent lower with a total of 2,054,973 vehicles.

For the distribution of traffic back to Jabotabek from three directions, namely the majority of 893,661 vehicles (56.23 percent) from the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 391,090 vehicles (24.60 percent) from the West (Merak), and 304,748 vehicles (19.17 percent) from the South (Puncak) direction.

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows:

East Direction

Traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 535,260 vehicles, an increase of 128.44 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, traffic returning to Jabotabek from Bandung via the Kalihurip Utama GT Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 358,401 vehicles, increased by 45.52 percent from normal traffic.

"The total traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs was 893,661 vehicles, an increase of 85.95 percent from normal traffic," he said.

West direction

Traffic returning to Jabotabek from Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is 391,090 vehicles, an increase of 10.80 percent from normal traffic.

South direction

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek from Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 304,748 vehicles, an increase of 18.16 percent from normal traffic.

Lisye said, the number of vehicles that had returned to Jabotabek reached 77.35 percent of the predicted backflow of 2 million vehicles in the period H1 to D+8 of Eid Al-Fitr 1444 H at the four main toll gates that had been mentioned earlier.

"By looking at the realization from H1 to D+6 which is compared to the prediction of backflow in the period H1 to D+8, there are still 22.65 percent or around 465,473 vehicles that have not returned to Jabotabek," said Lisye.
