Bank Mandiri cooperates with financial technology company (Tekfin) PT Empowered Indonesian Business (Batumbu) to encourage MSME growth in Indonesia.

Bank Mandiri SVP SME Banking Alexander Dippo said collaboration with Batumbu could expand the MSME lending market and also increase MSME credit growth in the country.

"Through cooperation with Batumbu, Bank Mandiri will increase access to financing for MSME actors who are bankable or not yet accessible by conventional banks and have an adequate business scale," said Dippo to the media, Monday, April 17. He added that Mandiri targets to be able to channel credit through the Batumbu platform in the amount of IDR 50 billion and does not rule out the possibility that it will continue to grow along with the development of cooperation between the two companies.

Meanwhile, until the end of March 2023, the total digital distribution of Bank Mandiri MSME loans has reached Rp782.7 billion, an increase of 10.88 percent year on year (you) to more than 100 thousand debtors.

Furthermore, he added, through the use and approach of digital, Bank Mandiri has also effectively encouraged lending with maintained credit quality.

This is reflected in Bank Mandiri's digital MSME credit NPL position which is maintained at 0.84 percent per first quarter of 2023.

This achievement is also part of Bank Mandiri's move to strengthen lending through collaboration with various fintechs in the country.

As a result, until the first quarter of 2023, Bank Mandiri's total lending through technical partners by channeling has reached more than IDR 2.52 trillion to more than 186,000 debtors.

Bank Mandiri is committed to continuing to contribute to supporting Indonesia's economic growth, especially in the MSME sector. Through digital services and various initiatives carried out, we are optimistic that we can help MSME business actors in improving their quality and productivity," he added.

Meanwhile, Batumbu President Director Tan Glant Saputrahadi explained that his party hopes that this collaboration can serve the wider community and provide benefits to stakeholders.

"We are very optimistic that with the support from Bank Mandiri, we can continue to increase the portion of productive financing portfolios to retail industry players," added Glant.

For information, Batumbu is a financial technology (fintech) lending company that has been established since April 2018.
