Train Tickets For Lebaran Homecoming Have Been Sold 55 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that long-distance train tickets during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period have been sold as much as 55 percent per day.

The tickets sold were for train departures in the period 12 to 3 May 2023.

VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said tickets that had been sold for the Lebaran homecoming period were 1,683,545 tickets or 55 percent of the total tickets provided.

The number will still increase, because sales are still ongoing. KAI hopes that people can plan their journey well because there are still quite a lot of train tickets for the Eid Transport period available," he said in a statement, Sunday, April 9.

Joni revealed that the period before Lebaran was dominated by passengers from the West (Jakarta or Bandung) towards the East (Central Java and East Java).

"For the period after Lebaran, passengers from the East (Central Java or East Java) are dominated towards the West (Jakarta or Bandung)," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the date of departure, the favorite trains were ordered, including April 24, 2023 as much as 81 percent; April 25, 2023 as much as 80 percent and April 20, 2023 as much as 79 percent.

"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he said.

The train trips that are in the top 10 in terms of occupancy that have been ordered include:

1. Airlangga Train (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasarturi pp) 100 percent

2. KA Sri Tanjung (Lempuyangan-Ketapang pp) 100 percent

3. KA Kahuripan (Kiaracondong-Blitar pp) 100 percent

4. Additional Pasundan Train (Kiaracondong-Surabaya Gubeng pp) 100 percent

5. Rajabasa train (Kertapati-Tanjungkarang pp) 100 percent

6. Bengawan train (Pasar Senen-Purwosari pp) 100 percent

7. KA Probowangi (Surabaya Gubeng-Ketapang pp) 100 percent

8. Bukit Serelo Train (Kertapati-Lubuklinggau pp) 100 percent

9. Tawang Alun Train (Old Town Malang-Ketapang pp) 92.92 percent

10. Ranggajati train (Cirebon-Jember pp) 92.05 percent.
