The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the construction of the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) Toll Road recently.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the toll road will start operating on April 1, 2023 to support the smooth running of users ahead of the Eid holiday.

"Additional to the toll road that operates (functional), namely the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road," said Basuki at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 4.

The Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road, which was built with an elevated, stretches from the Bekasi to Kampung Melayu area with a total length of 16.78 Km. The Becakayu Toll Road is also connected to the Ir Wiyoto Wiyono MSc Toll Road via the Pisangan Toll Gate (GT).

"With the operation of the Becakayu Toll Road, trips from Bekasi to Kampung Melayu can be reached more quickly in just 20 - 30 minutes," he said.

Not only that, continued Basuki, there are also other toll roads that will be operated functionally this year, namely the Semarang-Demak Toll Road.

"In addition, the Krian-Legundi-Bunder-Manyar Toll Road to the Wronginanom Toll Road is also operated," he added.

Later, the toll users operating will not be charged tariff fees or free.
