BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said the cash was ensured to be sufficient and in a well-deserved condition.

"Especially in welcoming Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr we held the Semarak Rupiah Ramadhan and Berkah Idulfitri (Serambi) 2023 program, including the provision of cash amounting to Rp195 trillion," he said during a press conference on Thursday, March 16.

Perry explained that the amount of Circulated Kartal Money (UYD) in February 2023 increased 2.71 percent year on (yoy) to Rp905.4 trillion.

"Bank Indonesia ensures the availability of rupiah currency with quality maintained throughout the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI)," he said.

Perry also said that Bank Indonesia would strengthen the payment system policy in facing the period of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

"We ensure the availability and reliability of the Bank Indonesia payment system and the industrial payment system, including monitoring the participating system in providing payment system transaction services," he said.

Perry added that the central bank will also ensure that the availability of rupiah currency is worth distribution by strengthening cash services to the public through banks.

"Bank Indonesia will provide locations for currency exchange services at crowded points and homecoming routes," he concluded.
