PTPP Completes Arrangement Of The Agung Besakih Temple Area, Project Worth IDR 378 Billion

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has successfully completed the construction of the Pura Agung Besakih Arrangement Area located in Karangasem Regency, Bali Province. The area arrangement project was inaugurated directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which was symbolically marked by a procession of congestion and signing the inscription.

During the inauguration, President Joko Widodo was accompanied by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Cabinet Secretariat Pramono Hanung, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Governor of Bali Wayan Koster, Regent of Karangasem I Gede Dana, Director of Operations for PTPP Anton Satyo Hendriatmo Building, ranks of government officials and other officials. The inauguration ceremony was held directly at the location of the Besakih Temple Area on Monday, March 13.

The arrangement of the Besakih Temple area is one of the efforts to protect cultural heritage areas which is a center for Hindu worship in Bali as well as a world-class tourist destination. The project that PTPP has worked on while having an implementation period of 20-month starting in August 2021 with a maintenance period of 12 months.

The project, which is owned by the Ministry of PUPR, has a contract value of IDR 378 billion. The scope of work carried out by PTPP includes: preparation process, planning, construction work (structural work, architectural work, mechanical electrical & plumbing work, as well as landscape & site development work), maintenance, and implementation of local wisdom.

The implementation of the work on the arrangement of the sacred area of Besakih Temple is divided into 2 (two) areas, namely the Manik Mas Building with a building area of 60,028 m2 and the Hadingan Area with a building area of 8,032 m2 which is carried out by building various supporting infrastructures in the area.

In his remarks, President Joko Widodo said that Besakih Temple has always been very crowded with Hindus from all over Indonesia. Moreover, at the time of the Bhatara Turun Kabeh ceremony which was held for every village. If the crowd is not balanced with arrangement and anticipation, it will be feared that it will cause potential inconvenience for visitors.

Joko Widodo added that the construction of good facilities is mega easier than managing and caring for them.

"For this reason, I would like to entrust the facilities that have been built by the central and provincial governments with very large funds, which have been submitted, must be followed by good management and professional management," said President Joko Widodo.

Anton Satyo Hendriatmo as Director of Operations for PTPP Building said that his party is proud to be able to complete the work of structuring the sacred area of Besakih Temple with faster progress than planned with the best quality and of course zero accident.

"We hope to continue to support Government programs in improving places of worship and supporting the improvement of tourism facilities in Indonesia in order to attract foreign tourists. In addition, the arrangement in the Besakih Temple area also supports the development of the MSME program for the surrounding community with the construction of 56 kiosks at the Manik Mas Building and 334 kiosks in the Bencingah Area," said Anton.
