JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 6 Yogyakarta provides as many as 66,176 additional seats for the Eid 2023 homecoming period.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 6 Yogyakarta Franoto Wibowo explained that the addition of tickets or seats aims to meet the needs of the community during Eid.

"In general, there are still many seats available for travel during the Eid transportation period from Daop 6 Yogyakarta. People can adjust their travel schedule to the availability of tickets because tickets can be booked 45 days before departure," Franoto said as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 13.

Franoto added that the tickets for additional train travel have also begun to be sold on Monday, March 13 through the KAI Access application, the kai.id website, contact center 121, and official sales partners.

"Customers can also still get tickets at the station ticket counter but the counter only serves 'go show' sales starting three hours before the train departure schedule," he said.

Meanwhile, tickets for regular train travel during the Eid transportation period have also been sold.

As of Sunday, March 12 at 10.00 WIB, the highest ticket sales at Daop 6 Yogyakarta occurred for April 25 departures reaching 59 percent or 6,937 tickets from 11,808 tickets provided.

Departure on April 24 sold 36 percent while April 20 was 35 percent.

KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta itself, said Franoto, operates five additional trains with various destination cities.

The additional train prepared is the Sancaka Train for the Yogyakarta-Solo Balapan-Surabaya Gubeng connection which will be carried out on 1.2.6-9, 13-30 April.

In addition, additional trains were operated for the April 12-30 trip, namely the Argo Lawu Additional Train and Argo Dwipangga Train Additional Solo Balapan-Yogyakarta-Gambir connection, Additional Taksaka trains for Yogyakarta-Gambir relations, and the Malioboro Express Train for Malang- Solo Balapan-Klaten-Yogyakarta relations.
