Sandiaga Uno: 754 Thousand Foreign Tourists Visit Indonesia In January 2023, Dominated By Tourists From Malaysia, Australia, And Singapore

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno revealed that there were around 754 thousand foreign tourists who came to visit Indonesia during January 2023. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) there was an increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia in January 2023 compared to the same period the previous year.

"When compared to January 2022 (the number of foreign tourist visits) has increased by 503.34 percent," Sandiaga said in his official statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, March 7. As for this foreign tourist visit, Sandiaga said, dominated by five countries, namely Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, Timor Leste, and India., so it is estimated that there will be a decrease in the number of foreign tourist visits.

To deal with the decline, he said the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy had collaborated with several airlines to offer attractive promos. His party also carried out an activation program through famtrip. Then there is also an activation program through the participation of the largest international exhibition such as SATTE 2023 in India and ITB Berlin in Germany.

"I plan to attend and show investment in Hong Kong so that it is hoped that there will be more foreign tourists in this low season," he said.
