Bogor Gets Two Prospective Investors From Japan For Halal Food Center Program

Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya stated that he received two potential investors from Japan for the halal food center development program or Halal Food Center in Rancamaya Village, South Bogor District, which requires an investment of US$16.8 million or around Rp257.3 billion.

During his visit to Japan in Tokyo, Bima said he had met and explained the potential investment to potential investors today.

"Earlier, we met two potential investors from Japan, namely Kajima Corporation and Mitsubishi Logistics. One of the programs that we are accelerating is the construction of the Halal Food Center in the Rancamaya area, on land owned by the Bogor City Government covering an area of 9 hectares. We are partnering with IPB. It takes funds that are not least the figure is around 16.8 million US dollars," he said, quoted from Antara, Friday, March 3.

Bima Arya's visit was a follow-up to the previous meeting between Bima Arya and the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi at the Bogor Botanical Gardens, February 1, 2023.

In the meeting facilitated by the Director of the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) Tokyo Muhammad Riffana, Bima Arya explained the Halal Food Center concept which will be filled by MSME centers to tourist attractions.

During the working visit, Bima Arya was also accompanied by the Head of the Bogor City Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMPTSP) Firdaus and the Head of the Cooperatives, SMEs, Trade, Industry Office of Bogor City, Atep Budiman.

"I explained how Halal Food Center is. Inside is a place for slaughtering animals, there are MSME centers, logistics distribution and tourist attractions. We project not only places for developing MSMEs but also destinations for tourists visiting Bogor City," explained Bima.

Bima also admitted that he was surprised when the potential investor he met had studied the data about the city of Bogor previously, including appreciating the economic growth of Bogor City after the pandemic.

"They already have data. I have quite a surprise too, they know that economic growth in Bogor City is above the average West Java and National. The economic prospects in Bogor are extraordinary, especially since the market is very large," said Bima.

Bima also explained that the potential of Bogor City is part of an urban area flanked by two provinces around the country's current capital.

"I explained, Bogor City is not only part of West Java Province, but also part of the largest megapolitan in the world, namely Jabodetabek," he added.

Bima Arya also saw an interest from potential investors to follow up on the next meeting in Bogor City.

"I see that there is an interest in them. Hopefully there will be a follow-up. In fact, one of them will soon visit Indonesia, especially to Bogor City next month," he hoped.
