JAKARTA - The Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Tutuka Ariadji said that at the beginning of 2023, Indonesia's oil and natural gas production will continue to increase.
"Recently, it has been more than a month since our oil production started at a higher level," he said in the Energy Corner, Monday, February 27.
Tutuka detailed that Indonesia's oil production was previously at the level of 600 thousand barrels per day, starting to increase to 630 thousand barrels. Tutuka said oil production had touched the level of 645 thousand barrels but then decreased and then increased again to 630.
"Previously it was at the 600 (thousand) level, now it is from 610 (thousands) to 630 (thousands), indeed production has reached 645 (thousands) but it has fallen again. So we see a tendency for this production to increase," added Tutuka
Tutuka also stated that the performance of Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) and oil companies in the field had also improved from the previous year. Furthermore, he said that the government also continues to support the performance improvement of PSC Contractors.

"The potential still exists, but operational problems need to be optimized. We have identified several potential fields and we will conduct direct visits to the field to see firsthand the preparations for increasing production in each PSC Contractor," continued Tutuka.
Tutuka continued, in 2023 the government is targeting oil lifting, the target is 660 Million Barrels of Oil per Day (MBOPD).
"If oil is targeted at 660, so currently it is still at the 620-630 level and the city is trying to continue to improve in several existing fields," concluded Tutuka.
