Director General Of Taxes Suryo Utomo: Already 4.29 Million SPT Reported Taxpayers

JAKARTA - The Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Suryo Utomo, revealed that 4,299,566 Annual Notifications (SPT) had been reported by taxpayers until Tuesday, February 21 at 21.00 WIB.

"The reported SPT grew 29.9 percent compared to the same period the previous year," Suryo said at the KiTa State Budget online press conference in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, February 22.

He said as many as 137,866 corporate taxpayers had reported income tax SPTs or grew 24.4 percent from the same period the previous year as many as 110,841 SPTs.

The SPT of individuals who have been received by the Director General of Taxes reached 4,161,700 or grew 30 percent compared to SPT revenues in the same period the previous year which reached 3,199,239 private SPTs.

Suryo added that 54 million population identification data had been integrated with the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).

"We also ask taxpayers to update the administrative system that can be done online. We do matching with the data and information we collect from the Director General of Dukcapil," he said.

The government will also continue to intensify law enforcement through examination of preliminary evidence and investigations, as stated in the General Provisions and Tax Administration (KUP).

"So on a regular basis, it is true that we carry out preliminary evidence and investigations with a fairly long routine process to test taxpayer compliance," he said.

He conveyed that every criminal act in the field of taxation that has gone through an investigation will be followed up with prosecution in court, which will also be submitted to the general public.
