JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk recorded a BRI ESG financing portfolio at the end of December 2022 of IDR 695 trillion, or equivalent to 67.5 percent of the total credit disbursed by BRI.

"We continue to conduct a thorough study in various aspects of BRI's operations on how ESG can be adopted as a whole in terms of credit governance, operations and social society," he continued.
Sunarso detailed that the majority of BRI's ESG financing portfolios were channeled to the MSME sector worth IDR 616.1 trillion, followed by financing to the sector for managing biological natural resources and the use of environmentally friendly land worth IDR 51.8 trillion and financing to the new renewable energy sector worth IDR 7.1 trillion.
