JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) noted that the total number of foreign tourist arrivals (tourists) to Indonesia reached 5.5 million, an increase of 250 percent throughout 2022, when compared to the previous year.

The increase in the number of foreign tourist visits was accompanied by an increase in the occupancy rate of star-classified hotel rooms which reached almost 57 percent or 5.33 points compared to the previous year.

"This was also followed by an average length of stay for guests (tourists) which was recorded at 1.62 days up compared to the previous year," added Sandiaga.

Previously, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy projected that the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia would reach 5.2 million by 2022.
