JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) began working on the development of one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in early 2023. The PSN in question is Patimban Port.

The port project, which is located in Subang, West Java, was jointly carried out with Toa Corporation (60 percent), PT Waskita Karya (Persero), Tbk. (16 percent), Wakachiku Construction (10 percent), Hutama Karya (9 percent), and PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) (5 percent) or TWHA JO. The contract value of this project is IDR 3.7 trillion.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo stated that the Patimban Port Phase 1-2 Package 5 (Car Terminal Construction) work project was marked by the signing of a work contract.

The signing was carried out at the end of last year December 30, 2022 at the Central Jakarta Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Office.

"The signing of this project contract is carried out by the Commitment Making Officer of package 5 which includes the Construction of Vehicle Terminals within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation and the leaders of the TWWA JO consortium," said Tjahjo, in a statement, Monday, February 6.

In this project, said Tjahjo, Hutama Karya is responsible for working on the Terminal Pier of vehicles with a length of 381 m. Then, the Service Boat Pier with a length of 367 m, and the Ro-Ro Pier with a length of 170 m.

Then, continued Thahjo, Hutama Karya will do reclamation work using the Cement Deep Mixing (CDM) and Cement Pipe Mixing (CPM) methods covering an area of 20 Ha and dredging work with a depth of 14 m.

The vehicle terminal will be built that accommodates 1,500 container vehicles per day. We are targeting this project to be completed around the middle of 2025," said Tjahjo.

Tjahjo said that the implementation of this project work would later use dredging or drilling vessels for reclamation work.

Furthermore, Tjahjo said Patimban Port will prioritize technology and digital systems in its operation so that it will be integrated in real time so that there is no accumulation of vehicles at the port.

"The benefits of this project can increase the efficiency of national logistics time and costs, strengthen economic resilience, reduce traffic density levels and ensure shipping safety, including oil and gas exploration areas and of course can also open job opportunities for the surrounding community," concluded Tjahjo.
