JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has prepared two incentives to accelerate the conversion program for oil-fueled vehicles (BBM) into electric vehicles.
"The government will issue 2 conversion program incentives, one is an incentive program for new electric motors and the second is an incentive program for conversion from gasoline-fueled motors to electric motors. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is the second PIC for the conversion (incentive) program," said the Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 1.
Dadan revealed that currently the conversion of gasoline-fueled motorcycles to massive electric motors is being carried out in collaboration with various parties.
"The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has converted fuel motorcycles into electric motors to get certification from the Ministry of Transportation with 143 units," he said.
"In addition to converting, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Center for Human Resources Development, Electricity, New Energy, Renewable and Energy Conservation (PPSDM KEBTKE) held a Technical Training for the Conversion of Fuel Motorcycles into Electric Motorcycles to 49 workshops spread across Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta (in 2 waves)," added Dadan.
Dadan added that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is currently investigating workshops that have certificates for conversion and planning to carry out training so that later the conversion workshop will become more.
"The directive from yesterday's coordination meeting was carried out in 10 big cities in Indonesia. So we will do this to speed up the conversion program," concluded Dadan.
