Moeldoko Said Chili Can Be Planted In Perangan, Don't Make Inflation Convex

DEPOK - Chili is often a contributor to national inflation. Especially when the price has increased quite high. In fact, said Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko, chili needs can be met independently, with a movement to grow chilies in the yard of the house.

This was conveyed when handing over chili seeds to the community on the banks of the Ciliwung river, in Depok, West Java, Wednesday, January 25. "Don't let our inflationary chili go up. Even though we can plant our own chilies in the yard of the house," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoko hopes that the chili planting movement in the yard of residents around the banks of the Ciliwung river will not only stop in the Depok area, West Java. However, it can continue to spread to Jakarta. The hope is that the community will not only be able to meet the daily needs of chilies, but can also become a source of income.

"If it is really planted and cared for properly, I am sure it can increase the family's income," he said.

Moeldoko said there are 1 million red cayenne pepper seeds that have been prepared. Currently in the process of nursery at the Pramuka Movement Kwarnas. Millions of these seeds will be distributed gradually to the community around the banks of the Ciliwung river.

"It's just a ceremonial opening. But a real movement. I'll check directly to make sure these chili seeds are planted and cared for properly," he concluded.

For information, the delivery of chili seeds was held on the banks of the Ciliwung river, in Parung Serab Village, Tirtajaya Depok. Symbolically, chili seeds were received by the Cipupuk Ampel Water Gate Community and a number of farmer women's groups in Depok.

The assistance of chili seeds is a collaboration work between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Kwarnas of the Scout Movement, and the Indonesian Farmers' Harmony Association (HKTI). Currently Moeldoko is the General Chair of HKTI.
