PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Bunyu Field began the process of drilling B-2118 and B-2221 wells on January 10, 2023. This well is located in South Bunyu Village, Bunyu District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan.

Bunyu Field Senior Manager Andri Sehang explained that the start of this well tax activity is expected to help increase the production of PEP Bunyu Field by around 250 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

"Currently, our oil production is 3354 BOPD," he told the media, Tuesday, January 17.

He further said that this two-well tax is one of the company's programs to support the Indonesian government to meet national energy needs and achieve the target of 1 million barrels of oil per day and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas by 2030.

"The company will continue to carry out new well drilling activities as a strategic step to maintain the level of oil and gas production," added Andri.
