JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) of South Sumatra (Sumbagsel) asked PetroChina to investigate the fire in the oil tank in Tanjung Jabung Barat, Jambi on Monday 9 January.

The fire resulted in three workers being injured, two of whom came from the company Bohai Drilling Contractor and one victim came from the Great Wall Drilling Contractor.

Meanwhile Vice President Human Resources and Relations PetroChina Dencio Renato Boele said the injured workers had been treated at a hospital in Jambi.

Dancio explained that after a thorough examination, one employee was allowed to undergo outpatient treatment and indeed the other two continued intensive treatment at the hospital.

"Two workers who are still being treated are currently in stable condition and are receiving further treatment from a team of specialist doctors. For information, one person is being treated for burns and one person is being treated for fractures," he explained.

Dencio emphasized that until now, oil and gas production activities in the Jabung Working Area are still running normally and the investigation process in the field continues.
